The Filter icon

CanvasPainter has array of filters that can be applied to your current Canvas. To preview the effects of a filter you must apply it to your Canvas and use the Undo feature to undo the filter should you not like the filter’s result.

Filters are currently applied to the canvas when activated. To undo them click or tap the Undo button.

To illustrate the effects described here each one is accompanied by an example of the effect being used on the following unfiltered image:

Desaturate

This filter removes all color from the canvas leaving a grey-scale image.

Invert

filter_invert

Inverts all the colors on the canvas.

Sepia Tone

filter_sepia_tone

Adds a sepia color effect to the canvas.

Adjust Brightness

filter_adjust_brightness

Will adjust the brightness according to the value you select.

Adjust Saturation

filter_adjust_saturation

Adjusts the color intensity of the current canvas. Higher values result in more extreme saturation changes.

Adjust Threshold

filter_adjust_threshold

Replaces pixels in the canvas that are less than the value specified with a black pixel.

Sharpen Image

filter_sharpen_image

Sharpens the image. Most effective where there are areas of contrasting color abutting each other.

Blur Images

filter_blur_image

Blurs an image according to the value you specify. This Filter is not available on mobile devices.

Find Edges

filter_find_edges

Searches for the borders between different colors and in doing so detects the contours of shapes, thereby enhancing them.

Emboss

filter_emboss

Embosses an image – most effective after a Sharpen or Find Edges filter has been applied.
